What eCommerce extensions do
- Customer acquisition — capture new profiles when a customer creates an account or checks out
- Transaction attribution — push completed orders to Omneo as transactions, triggering points and reactions
- Incentive redemption — surface reward and benefit balances at checkout for redemption

The Shopify Proxy
The Shopify Proxy is a key component of the Shopify integration. It acts as an authenticated middleware layer between the Shopify storefront and the Omneo API, enabling:- Secure customer authentication using Shopify customer IDs
- Omneo SDK access on the storefront without exposing API tokens
- HMAC signature verification to confirm the request is genuine
