Currency and Region Extensions - Omneo API

Currency and region extensions supply the exchange rates a multi-region tenant needs. Omneo already models regions, currencies and currency pairs (see Localisation). These extensions keep the rates behind them current and record them where loyalty can use them.

Omneo Currencies

The Omneo Currencies extension is Omneo’s own exchange rate service. It works in three ways:

Transaction conversion. A Transaction in a foreign currency gains a currency_values entry holding the rate for its day and the converted total, and Reactions can wait for it before issuing loyalty.
Live rates. Cross-region tier points, region switches and Omneo Clienteling ask it for today’s rate when no fixed rate is configured.
Daily market rates. Each currency pair’s market_rate is refreshed once a day, and pairs set to use_market_rate convert at it.
