# commercetools

> The Omneo commercetools extension connects commercetools to Omneo for profile sync, order-to-transaction recording, and incentive management.

The Omneo commercetools extension connects commercetools to Omneo for profile sync, order sync, product sync, and incentive management.

## What the extension covers

* Profile sync: commercetools customer to Omneo profile
* Order sync: commercetools order to Omneo transaction when the configured order state is reached
* Product sync: commercetools product catalogue to Omneo
* Reward and benefit data available for display in commercetools-powered storefronts

## Profile resolution

Profiles are matched using the `commercetools` identity handle and commercetools customer ID. On first encounter, the extension creates the identity link between the commercetools customer and the Omneo profile.

## Order to transaction

Configure the commercetools order state at which an order should be converted to an Omneo transaction. The extension subscribes to commercetools order state change events.

## Storefront integration

For front-end reward display and redemption, use the [Omneo ID service](/dev-guides/frontend/omneo-id) to generate a profile-scoped token from your commercetools server-side middleware, then pass the token to the Omneo SDK.
